Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity Statement

This policy outlines Valencia College’s policies on nondiscrimination, equal opportunity and affirmative action. It applies to prospective and current students, employees and vendors of the college.

The statements below enable a wide variety of printed and electronic communications to include a meaningful reference to the policy. It is Valencia College’s intent to provide the most comprehensive versions of the statements in the most significant (highest-exposure) publications or digital environments through these guidelines.

Each statement is typeset in 6-point Gotham Book font when placed on white backgrounds or 7-point Gotham Book when reversed over a dark background. All are available as ready-to-place artwork to integrate into most layouts.

Long Statement

Exemptions

These guidelines are meant as suggestions for stylistic consistency. Versions of the statement are not mandatory in any of the items listed above when space constraints or additional costs make it prohibitive.

In addition, a nondiscrimination statement is not necessary for the following items:

  1. College stationery and business cards
  2. Invitations to special events (i.e. arts/performing events, building dedications, business forums, etc.)
  3. Event programs
  4. Outdoor billboards
  5. Signage (on-campus or monument)
  6. Email and email-distributed marketing materials (i.e., Constant Contact, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
  7. Course syllabi, routine business forms such as travel forms, Valencia-published print or e-textbooks, and educational materials
  8. Broadcast advertising (radio and TV)
  9. Digital advertising (banner ads)
