More than 11,000 votes were cast for Valencia College’s new mascot. You chose the Puma, and we agree…this is one cool cat.
The Valencia College Puma symbolizes a sense of pride and spirit in students, alumni, faculty, staff and anyone that proudly supports the College and its mission.
The Mascot System
Key Points
Hey, let’s not use the Mascot Mark in place of the College’s logo. The Mascot Signatures shown below include versions of the mascot mark paired with various College logos. Oh, and please, let’s always use the official artwork available from Valencia College Public Affairs and Advancement.
Using the Mascot Mark in the approved colors is pretty important, as well as the placement and clear space rules outlined just below.
Need a V.I.P.
(Very Inspiring Puma)?
The VC Puma has become so popular, we developed brand guidelines for the use of the mascot mark and for Purrcy the VC Puma, our mascot character. You can showcase Purrcy at your next event in one of two ways: purchase a reusable life-size cutout or request a live appearance. Whether appearing in the form of a stand-up cat or showing up in purrson, Purrcy comes complete with just the right amount of “cattitude.”

The VC Puma attracts crowds but let’s not crowd out the logos—give it a little breathing room to let it stand out amongst copy, images and other logos. Allowing some space around the Mascot Signature and Mascot Stacked Signature Reversed helps them stand out. At a minimum, allow room for three capital Es all the way around. In some special circumstances, it may be necessary to reduce the minimum clear space to a space equal in size to the cap height of two Es.

Logo Sizing
We’re no puny Puma—let’s make sure everyone can see it. After all, we want them to know it’s us. Some methods of printing may not allow the logo to look its best at small sizes. So, keep it no smaller than 1” wide.
